Frequently asked questions
Can an individual employee work across multiple roles or higher duties with different rates of pay?
Yes, foundU allows an individual employee to have multiple positions on their profile at any time. The relevant pay rate will be applied based on the position assigned to their associated shift. For example, an employee can work as an educator on some shifts and a lead educator on others, with the different rates of pay applied.
Can I pay broken shift allowances to my staff?
Yes, if your employees work separate shifts on the same day with unpaid breaks in between, you can automatically pay their required broken shifts allowance using foundU’s split shift award setting.
Can I roster based on classrooms?
Yes, rosters can be created for each classroom. You can also name each roster based on the age group and classroom ratios. Using notes within the roster, you can capture the number of children booked each day.
Can employees work at each of my childcare centres with hours and wages costed correctly?
You can assign multiple centre locations on each employee profile. This allows them to be rostered at those centres with their wages and hours costed accordingly. The ‘See External Shifts’ feature in the roster also helps you see when an employee has been allocated shifts in a different location.
How does foundU help manage staff leave?
An in-built leave calendar gives managers a unified view of all leave requests. Both pending and approved leave applications are displayed together, helping you confirm coverage before processing requests.
