Onboard employees fast
Use foundU’s digital onboarding software for hospitality to onboard new employees fast. Easily capture all of the qualifications, licenses, tickets, and VEVO checks you need and store it on each employee’s dedicated profile. For example, you can easily capture Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificates and set up expiry notifications. You can also request digital sign off on policies and procedures via the convenient employee app, so your hospitality staff are ready to go from day one. Set up each employee profile with multiple positions and pay rates so you can pay your staff correctly, no matter when or where they’re working across your hospitality venues.

Control labour costs
foundU makes it easy for you to cover shifts at your venues while controlling your labour costs. You can build a pool of people who are approved and available to work, then reference their employee profiles when you build your rosters. See shifts and wage costs side by side as you create your roster and break down shifts into specific cost codes if you need to monitor costs across multiple events. You can also use our hospitality workforce analytics tools to visualise your wage costs at all of your venues.

Scale efficiently
Onboard as many team members as you need onto our hospitality employee management platform, but only pay for those who are entitled to be paid weekly or monthly. Our active user model is perfect for hospitality businesses that deal with fluctuating demand, seasonality, or events. Build up a pool of employees, then send shifts to those who are available, qualified, and in the right location to cater for your guests. You can also attract and retain staff by activating great employee benefits via our partner network and integrations.

Simplify payroll compliance
Our onboarding, rostering, time and attendance, and payroll software for hospitality are all built into one system. Your hospitality staff can easily clock in using the clock app downloaded on a tablet device at your venue, the employee app with geolocation tracking, or simple timesheet submission. Managers will receive worked shifts for review and once approved, the data will flow straight through our powerful award interpretation engine into payroll. Employees can also hold multiple positions, ensuring that the right pay and entitlements are applied for every shift.
foundU has made everything a lot easier and simpler. Everything is in one place, and I like that we only need one person managing it as an admin. The staff working at our venues are happy with the foundU Clock app, which makes tracking time and attendance a lot easier for me, and for them as well. The payroll module is the best part for me - it's all in the one spot, easy to navigate, easy to track, and means I don't have to use an additional system. I can search for employee profiles directly if I need to add back pay, as opposed to having to scroll to find them. I can easily add additional things like uniform deductions, child support payments, leave... it's so simple. Venue managers can see everything all in the one place, and they can make updates quickly if they need to.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to pay for all employees on my database?
foundU only charges for active users. This means you only pay for employees that are entitled to be paid (weekly or monthly) and can store as many candidates on your hospitality workforce management platform as you need without increasing your costs. Many of our hospitality customers love having the weekly option as their workforce often fluctuates.
How do I make sure that my employees are being paid correctly based on their position?
You can set up positions on each employee’s dedicated profile. These positions are referenced when you roster them on for shifts and pay them for the hours completed. You can also schedule position changes ahead of time, such as birthday rate changes. Using foundU’s configurable award settings, you can even ensure that the correct position is applied based on the work location. For example, if your employee works in a bar setting, they may need to be paid a higher rate.
Can my hospitality employees have multiple positions?
Yes, you can create multiple positions for each employee via their employee profile. For example, if an employee operates works in different areas of your venue, such as the bar and the gaming room, you can create different positions. Each one can be configured with its own pay rate, rules, and allowances. It will then be referenced when you roster your employees and generate their pay slips.
Can employees work at each of my venues with hours and wages costed correctly?
You can assign multiple venues on each employee profile. This allows them to be rostered at each venue with their wages and hours costed accordingly. The ‘See External Shifts’ feature in the roster also helps you see when an employee has been allocated shifts in a different location.
Are there any tools to help quickly fill shifts?
Yes, foundU can help you allocate an extra team member to an event and fill cancelled shifts fast. Using the employee app, SMS, email, and platform announcements, you can send bulk shift offers to employees who are available and have the right experience and qualifications to work in the position.
You can also create tags to group employees that live in a certain area or are highly reliable. Set a time frame in which they need to accept or decline the shift before you offer it to other team members, ensuring that you fill the shift fast.
How does foundU help manage staff leave?
An in-built leave calendar gives managers a unified view of all leave requests. Both pending and approved leave applications are displayed together, helping you confirm coverage before processing requests.
