Kate Harvey is the owner of popular farm to table bistro Wild Canary, located in the idyllic suburbs of West Brisbane. The bistro employs 45 staff with a mix of permanent and casual positions under multiple awards. Kate runs a tight team and wants her staff documents to always be up-to-date and compliant.
Before foundU, Kate was constantly having to chase staff for sign-off on company policy and procedure. New staff would begin work not having acknowledged documents and Kate would constantly have to chase employees for paperwork.
"I was constantly spending time on the phone and email to remind staff to sign their documents and send them to me," Kate said.
Once she got the documents, she had to store them both physically and electronically, all while making sure her record keeping and payroll was compliant.
For a busy restaurant owner who wears many hats, she couldn't afford to be spending all her valuable time on admin tasks.
Kate was looking for a solution that automated her paperwork, kept her business compliant and gave her more time in the bistro than the office.
After using an alternative workforce management platform and finding the system lacking, Kate chose Australia’s only true end-to-end workforce management software, foundU.
When onboarding new employees, they cannot progress through the process unless they acknowledge company policies and procedures then and there. No acknowledgement, no joining Wild Canary.
She can never lose a document. All her records are available at the click of a button and associated with each employee. RSAs, licenses, work history, address – Kate can find it in seconds.
She can sleep easy. During implementation, foundU worked with Kate to tailor the platform to her business. Every pay run is fully compliant and every record stored properly.
She loves the support foundU provides. No problem is too big or small and Kate can plan for the future knowing foundU is at her side.
"We choose it because it ticked all the boxes," Kate said.
If you want to be like Kate and spend less time in chasing staff and more time doing what you love, book in a demo with foundU.
